Rack Fabrication .... Toddy -> Rackfabberextraordinare

Greetings ADVers, so thanks to playing extreme softball with one of my mates and his (small) daughters I managed to break a finger through the joint needing an op and screwing  back together 8-(

So the recruitment drive went out and Toddy from Te Anau kindly volunteered to help fab and do the heavy work in exchange for beer and food, he was treated with way more than that but that is another story.

So we set to, measured, cut, fabbed ,welded, beer, lunch, talked crap, cuppa tea, recut my fups and rewelded etc, more beer and afternoon tea, more crapped talked ..... ultimate result is two racks completely fabbed ready for welding which twin bro is gonna take care of.

Toddy in action.

Toddy ... more action.

In order to make sure the wheel cleared the rear cross bar we unhooked the lower suspension link.

Toddy drilling, I should have bought some holes while they were on special at the hardware store.

Rear box with handle removed.

The spiderweb upside down to show how it all goes together from the back.

Rack No 2 ... quick as.

Rack No 2 rear view.

We have to weld in the bracing and mount the catches and they are done, squirt of paint so they look pretty for 5 minutes before the Dalton Highway turns them Alaska brown ... finished.

Huge thanks to Toddy for being a good bastid (as noted on our supporters page) and to my twin bro for finishing the welding and mounting the latches etc.
