Easter Coming..Go Inland Away From The Beach Crowds

Bailing off inland to Colac because the coast was going to get very busy with Easter Weekend we aimed for Lake Colac, Meredith Park.

The first night was nice, pretty quiet and easy to get a space, we set up and tried some fishing, I very nearly landed a fish but he got away right on the beach edge, another fine gentleman down the beach gave Ellen a good size fish so it was bikini 1, fishing rod 0.

The new day dawned, sunny, cool and clear and fishing was on our agenda to try and break the 007 status, 0 fish, 0 talent 7 hours.

Much to my persistence and eagerness I landed a good fish which we gave to our neighbours who had kindly given us burgers for lunch earlier on.…paying it on for good karma.

That evening the crowds kept coming and coming, so much so they were jamming in edge ways and camping well past the No Camping signs, it was unreal the amount of people and it was like a concert event with noise.

Even the Ozzie traveller guys across from us said they hadn’t seen anything like it.

As we were only there for 2 nights we left the following morning to Colac to get a replacement ciggy socket for our charging as the wire had broken off then off again midway towards the coast to spot some waterfalls.

On the out way Mr.Plod was doing drink driving test, we must have looked suspicious with our wine cork glue to the front of the sidecar.

Stevenson falls was our stop for the following couple of nights, the fist night turning into party central again with huge noise, camp etiquette of quiet after 10pm and before 8am completely out the window with some guys still going hard at 3 am.

I am not sure if this is world wide now with self entitled young punks who think they can fuck everyone elses night(s) because they want to party…disrespectful wankers is what they are.

Anyway, back to the site seeing which lead us to 2 other waterfalls and a lake walks through some pretty neat landscapes and every waterfall heaving with people over the Easter break.

We headed coastal again to Princetown to resume the GOR and to see the 12 Apostles etc.
