From Esperance, mum, dad and the twos kids we all headed off towards Hopetoun, Houston and Emily knew some short cuts so Houston guided us through some pretty coulas back roads.
The camp at Hopetoun was pretty quiet which was nice, it did rain quite a bit which was funny as the water just sat on the sand and didn’t drain away, never seen shit like that before.
Nice walks along the beach although slightly cool the place was pretty neat.
Houston and Emily were heading inland from there so we all rode to Ravensthorpe before saying goodbye, they were heading north to Perth while we were doing exit stage left toward Bremer Bay.
Staying in Bremer Bay for 2 nights because Ellen was turning one year older we had a fire which we were invited to for the two nights, this absolutely made our stay taking shit, drinkin and enjoying life.
Bremer Bay Brewery
A local beach
Gin and beer for the birthday, no chups cos their deep fryer was broken
Bremer bay done and dusted we hit it to Sterling NP, our goal to climb Knolls Bluff, we stayed in a pretty nice wee camp called a retreat which was essentially at the edge of the park.
Knolls Bluff was quite a grunt, around 700 vertical meters, we had nearly a perfect day with sun and no wind, clear skys for epic views which just made it.
I was feeling bent and hoped a good hike might straighten me up a bit but no the fire in my joints continued, never mind the mind food of climbing, achieving and doing was a great top up mentally.
Albany, the weather was looking extremely stormy and unsettled so we got a cabin for the two night stay as I was feeling very stormy in the nerves with my arthritis giving me shit from the damp and cold.
First night was ok, second night payed its way with us glad to be under cover in a real bed, apart from staying at Harrys in Geelong and Beffys in Tassie this was only our second night in a cabin with the Hillberg standing strong for the rest.
We also picked up a digital air pump for Skippy as we are airing up and down for the lovely coros rather than rattling her to bits.
While in Albany we rocked out to the natural rock bridge etc which was well cool.
